Just this side of heaven is a place called

Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Stoli

Stoli was our wolf sable Pomeranian, we adopted him in Oct of 2008. He was my husband's best friend and love of our life. Stoli was getting ready for his walk on the Montour Trail with his buddy Snickers. The trail is right down the street from my home. He was on a retract leash and started to run when he seen something interesting to him across the street. The leash never locked and came right of the reel, my husband watched in horror as Stoli's life was taken by a truck. We are still devastated by his loss.  Snickers was sad for weeks. Sometimes at night I can still hear him whine to pick him up on to the bed. My husband will never get over it and still has nightmares about it. We are just now able to talk about it, our grief was overwhelming.

We had him cremated and keep his ashes, leash and collar on our mantel above our fire place in a box that I made just for him. We have thrown away all retract leashes and will never use them again.

Stoli we love you so much and miss you everyday!

 Baby Girlie

Pom Prints Rescue received very sad new from Baby Girlie's Mommy on 2/1/2012. Baby Girlie passed away about 2 am. She had a seizure that lasted more than 5 mins. Baby Girlie was very loved and cared for and her family is just  devastated. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Sue, Jim and Mindee. Baby was a puppy mill rescue and was so afraid of humans. Sue and her family worked with Baby and she learned how to be a dog. I often received updates on her and her brother Buddy, also adopted from Pom Prints Rescue via Facebook. We are sadden by Baby Girlie's passing and her family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Lucy

Lucy came to Pom Prints Rescue on 7/11/2011, she was found as a stray in 100 degree heat. Lucy had neurological damage, seizures and lymphoma, and we made a very hard decision to no longer let her suffer. Lucy will be missed dearly, she is now in a place where she will no longer feel pain. We love you Lucy and know you are a peace now. We will never forget you sweet girl.

 Copper

Copper was found as a stray wondering the streets by a friend of ours, so she called us. We took Copper to the vet (that is what we named him) and found out he had a serious heart murmur, it was rated 5 out of 6. We then contacted BREW Begal Rescue we thought it would be better for him to go to a breed speific rescue. We spoke with Elaine and she said they could take him into thier rescue, but needed foster care for him. She asked Bob and I to foster him and of course we said yes. A few months later Copper could not breathe so we took him to the ER vet, this is when we found he had an enlarged heart and tracheal deviation. He was put on medicine for it and this helped for a while, but then a Copper started to go down hill. We contacted Elaine and he was taken back to the vet. The decision was made to no longer let him suffer. He passed away peacefully and  it was one of the hardest decisions we ever had to make. Copper is no longer suffering and sick, we miss him dearly. We had him for 9 months and he bacame part of our family.

Rest in peace our faithful friend. We love and miss you.

I want to thank Elaine for taking him into BREW and asking us to foster him. He was a joy to have and was a wonderful dog. Thank you Elaine and BREW for all you did for Copper!

Sierra

Sierra came to our rescue in late 2009. She had a infected tumor in her ear and were able to have most of it removed. She was then adopted on 1/9/2010 by a wonderful couple, Colette and Jeff. They adored her along with her Italian Greyhound sister Maxi.  Her ear got infected again and they found out the tumor was cancer, they then had a total ear canal ablation done for her. Sierra seemed to be doing well until one day she had to be rushed to the ER vet. This is when a mass that was growing in her lungs was discovered. Colette and Jeff were devastated, they did everything they could to keep Sierra happy and comfortable. When the end was nearing we were honored they asked us to visit with Sierra and we got to say our goodbyes to her. Sierra passed very peacefully and her "parents" are once again devastated.

Sierra lived a happy, loving and wonderful life in what little time she had with Colette and Jeff. She could of not had better parents. We would like to thank them for all they did for Sierra.

Hope

Hope was born at our recue on 9/16/2009, her mommy Fancy was a puppy mill rescue. When Hope was born she was very week and could not hold her body temperature and had trouble breathing. She also was not nursing. We named her Hope in hope that she would survive, we took her to vet and she was not hopeful.  They next day things looked a little better she was warmer and started to nurse, we stayed up in shifts to watch her.  On the 3rd day she quit nursing again, so we tried to bottle feed her. She would not take the bottle so we then feed her with an eye dropper, unfortunately she did not make it. We were very sadden by the loss of her, but I like to believe a child in heaven needed a puppy and wanted Hope to be his/her puppy.

Hope passed peacefully on 9/19/2009

Kindra

Kindra was one of our puppy mill rescues, she was such a tiny girl.  Her mouth had a horrible infetion and she had to have every tooth in her mouth removed. The vet put her on strong antibiotics so the infection would not spread to her blood, but they did not work, the infection was already too bad. Kindra went into CHF (congestive heart failure) and passed away. She wagged her tail and gave kisses to the end. She was only out of the mill 2 weeks, but at least she was loved and cared for in the short time she had.

Kindra passed peacefully on 3/11/2009
